I just wanted to ask where would be the best place to find a starter and a flywheel for a 6.5. Also what brands are the best in yalls opinion. I usually use ac-delco and have had pretty good luck. Any help is appreciated.

So I guess you bought the truck from your uncle. 2 weeks ago I had to replace my starter. Low on funds right after Christmas I checked with the "chain" auto parts stores and decided to call Advance Auto and get one of the rebuilt 1 yr.starters. Well it was not in stock ...the clerk knocked 30 bucks off the "new" lifetime starter that was in stock for me. The starters are simple to change so I wouldn't spend a fortune on a starter.

you should be able to pick a starter up at like auto zone, checker, ect for pretty cheap with a lifetime warranty. i paid about 170 for mine. my old one was tested and it didn't even move. and as far as i know the starters for sale now are an upgrade. supposed to turn faster from what i was told.

This is NO JOKE, I bought a flywheel for my truck about 4 months ago from pep boys and it was only $5 YES $5 I thought it was a mis-print but it WASN'T so if you need onec check there first it should pay off. Auto zone wanted around $50.
