Over the New Years weekend I stayed at a hotel in Chicago and when I dropped my truck off at the valet it was perfectly fine. The next morning they pulled it up and my ABS and Traction control light were on. The DIC says to service the traction control and trailer brake system. I plugged in my DTC reader and it didn't throw any codes. I am trying to figure out what happend in that 24 hours that my truck should have been sitting in a garage to set these lights off. I just wanted to get some input from you guys before i took it to a dealer. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ever wonder if they took it for a joy ride while you were sleeping? I always hated to let a valet park my ride. Check for burnt rubber in the fender wells. Hope that wasn't the case.

To have both the ABS and TCS lights on, you have either a wheel speed, Communication bus, or power/ground problem. When ABS fails, your trailer brakes go into a limited mode as well.

I bet the valet did a brake stand with your truck... It just seems that way to have all of those warnings go off. I hope not

Just a tip for future reference. Record your mileage before giving the valet your keys and let them know you have the mileage. Valets in large cities are known to rent cars in their possession to others as a side income. Works great for them!

Remember the scene on Ferris Buellers Day Off where the two dudes took the Ferrari for a hell ride? .....one never knows. I would be speculating and definately writing down the odometer. Hope nothing happened, that is crap if someone hammered on your truck.

Yea I have worried that they may have taken it and hot rodded around with it. I just saw on fox news a month ago where valet guys would do burnout and donut contests in the parking garages of these hotels and they got them on tape. I don't think it's coincidence that I left the truck off perfectly fine and then when I got it back these lights were on....What's disappointing is that it was a nice hotel....I'll keep you guys filled in on what it was....I have a buddy that works for a dealership with access to a tech 2...thanks guys.

So I took the truck to my dealer and it ended up being a wheel speed sensor. I would like to get feedback from some of you guys on how this could have happened. Does it look like the valet was hot rodding around in the truck? I don't see how this could have gone bad overnight if the truck was supposedly sitting in a parking garage. Any info is greatly appreciated. Personally I think it was abused at sometime during the night, but obviously I have no proof.

The odds are it was just it's time. You pretty much can't spin the tires on dry pavement because of TM. So how does even hard driving effect a wheel sensor? These aren't known to be bullit proof.

The thing that concerns me the most is that my truck only has 3,500 miles on it.

Sometimes things just go bad. Electrical things can go bad with the first use.
