Have a 06 duramax that the check engine oil level light came on, so checked the oil level and if anything it appears to be right at full or slightly above. Will that light come on if there is too much oil in the truck??

Anyone have any idea?? should I just add more anyway??

no! keep it at the correct level, (at the fulllevel on the dipstick) their is something wrong with the level switch!

Mine has been doing the same thing once in a while the past month. Its due for an oil change also amd keeps telling me everyday. Maybe the two have something to do with each other?

Definitely believe your eyes on the dipstick before some electronic gizmo and don't add more!!!!

Is your oil life monitor on the DIC reset and within normal range? I've never let mine run down below about 20% so I"m wondering if/when it gets low that error message flashes???

Dude, the hell with what that damn computer is telling you. If you checked the dip stick, and it shows to be "OK"...then leave it alone!! To much oil will wreck major havoc in your engine !!! :badidea:

I left it right at full on the dipstick. The oil was just changed and dic reset. must be something with the sensor.
