My '95 has the ABS light on again. Intermittant problem.
Can I read the codes using a paper clip, jump A-H key on. engine off?
If so does are the codes listed anywhere? Thanks

2 wheel ABS, right? It could be a wheel speed sensor is faulty. You can test them buy putting a volt meter on the sensor and spinning the hub. If it gives a volt signal it's ok but no volt signal would mean it was faulty.

Quantum, the sensor should send out an AC voltage reading, correct? How much voltage?

I assume it is 2 wheel (front only), I have had the rear end apart, brakes, bearings and seals a few times and have not found any rear wheel speed sensors....
So that would mean 2 wheel... Right?

If you didn't see wires going to a rear sensor, you likey don't have it. The voltage is really low turning by hand, just a fraction of a volt.

GM's four wheel anti-lock brakes use the trany output shaft speed senor for the rear anti-lock sensor.

How would you know if you have 2 or 4 wheel ABS? RPO codes? Or does 2 wheel ABS work off the tranny output and 4 wheel use the hub sensor.

IIRC 95 or 96 was the first year for four wheel ABS in the full size trucks.
