On my way home from work today in Saskatchewan I could not drive any faster than 40kms per hr, with 2000rpm with gas pedal on the floor. Anybody encountered this before? After approximately 30 mins I had control of my truck again and was able to drive posted highway speeds. Check engine light is now on as well.

How cold is it? I had the same thing happen last winter and when I got home I got online and found a thread referencing an air sensor in the intake tube freezing up.
I pulled it out hit it with the hair dryer in the house and everything was fine. Never had a repeat occurance...

-14c and with windchill factor -24c. Will see if it is a problem tomorrow morning. Just thought it was really weird and that maybe my truck was in some safety mode? Interested to hear if others had this issue.

Yup sounds like it went into limp mode... Temps were below zero the time time I experienced the MAP sensor (I think) freezing up as well.
There is a TSB where they move it to a different spot in the pipe to help with the freezing up if I remember right. Try searching on map sensor icing or something similar.

Hey, I've been experiencing the exact same thing as you. It's spitting out a P0106 code which indicates a MAP(manifold absolute pressure) fault. There are alot of good reads just by searching the code but it's likely because of the weather. I went and bought part of the MAP sensor(comes in two parts) and the code had cleared itself before I could install it. Either there is condensation in the intake tube, condensation in the air filter(froze solid and engine not getting enough air), condensation on the MAF sensor, or condensation or oil in the MAP inlet tube. Check all of these before going to buy the parts for a new MAP sensor because they aren't cheap. I live in saskatchewan too so the weather has been the same for me.

My truck did the exact same thing today. Temps here in Minnesota haven't cleared 5 degrees in over a week. I used my programmer when I got home to reset the CEL. We'll see if it stays off, but I'll call my dealer about the TSB about moving the MAP sensor

Just happened to my truck when my wife was driving it recently. She left it at a dealer and they found all the codes mentioned above: P0401, P0106, and P0101. They went all out and reflashed the ECM which reset the problem and everything is good. Curious if there is a possiblility of a bad ground common to these sensors? Still cold outside so I haven't poked around under the hood to figure it out.
