Hey all just got a "reduced engine power message" and cannot get it to go away. So far the check engine light has not come on. It's a 2007 Classic with about 93,000 on it now.

Recently my family and I went home (Southern Missouri) for Christmas for a week in the freezing weather. Being from south Texas I know that we had to get many types of fuel on the way up and back down with different kinds of additives. I do use Kleen additive at every fill up. We went through lots of rain, sleet and snow going up and coming back. We did not drive the truck much while we were up there and the temp never ready got below 20. I have done my research and these are the things I have done already; replaced air filter, cleaned MAF sensor with MAF cleaner, checked all fluids (new engine, transfer case and transmission before we left), disconnected the battery to try to reset the message and have also replaced the fuel filter. It runs as fast as I want to go but the response of the throttle is quite slow. When you start off it takes it a bit to kick in and when it does it really goes. Just trying to find out what you all think it is or if there is a way to reset the message. I will go up to Autozone tomorrow to get any codes that it may have.

Thanks for any input that you may have.

Nothing? No rumors or anything? Would you all assume that it my be a throttle cable or throttle body? Does the 2007 have a cable for the gas pedal or is it electronic? Just brainstorming here. Thank again for any input.

will your rpm's go higher than 2000?if not sounds like an engine limp.

Yes, it will go above 2000 easily. I am thinking it has to be something with the fuel/air somewhere.

From reading other threads, I would have the injector balance/flow rates checked.

this happened to me a few months ago...i left the windows down and wasnt home and the truck got soaked... from what people said on here it could be a water/electrical issue. mine went away after a few days.
i turned truck back to stock as soon as it happened, then up again a few days later.
best of luck

Well, took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the pedal (throttle). They said that the computer was not reading correct data from the pedal and sent it into limp (reduced engine power) mode. The part sound be here in a week. I was going to put it in myself but they said that it must be reprogrammed at the dealer. Is this true?
