Went to the lake to day and got stranded. truck will not crank. befor i left the house it had to turn it over for a minute before it would crank. got ready to get the truck to pull the boat out of the water and had to try to get it to crank twice before it would start. pulled it out of the water and then cut it off. went back to leave and it would not start. still sitting there. unplugged the edge thinking it may have something to do with it but still no start. the glow plug light flashes twice real fast when you turn on the key and some times does not light at all. just turns over and never fires. tested the glow plugs and have fire on one side but not the other. Help please, would like to get the truck home.

p0193 is FUEL RAIL PREASURE CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT.....There is not a p0090 in my dtc code list, did you type wrong, or read it wrong

no that is what it said -- dont remember code discription and i erased it to see if it comes back so i cant look it back up. fuel filter on the way and k&n air filter also -- both are original so dont think it will hurt to change. the glow plug lamp is acting funny as well, it flashes on and off twice really quick when you turn the key on. then some times it does come on at all. it is starting now but you have to turn it over a long time to crank. thanks for any help.

Dtc P0090 Is For Fuel Pressure Regulator.sound Like Long Crank Is Due To Fuel Pressure Problem.glow Plug Lite Would Need To Be Looked At As A Seperate Issue

Put In a fuel filter, air filter, and cleared codes -- Drove about 50 miles and shut down. Started back okay but still a little slow. Think that could be the chip because its always took a little long to start since the chip. I dont remember how i was before. Check engine light has not come back on, so i guess i will drive it and see how it does and see if this fixes the problem. i dont drive the truck much anymore so i going to drive it the next couple of days and see how it does. Thanks for all the help guys and hopefully the filters fixed the problem.

On the slow start after a chip...I have the same issue and I find that turning the key to the on position and counting to 2, then cranking has the truck firing up much quicker. I do not know why this works for me but it does.

Still having same problem -- left me stranded three times. That was enough. Took it to the dealer for my apointment this morning and they called and said that i needed new injectors. Is this a common problem with the d max or does the edge effect this and make it become a problem. If this is due to the edge its not going back on when i get it back from the dealer. Thanks for any info. Dont want to mess up the truck but love the power of the chip.

It is a normal problem with the Duramax even without a chip, especially with the 2001-2002 models. I have been through it on my 2001 700 miles away from my house. It sucked, no chip...
