I get P0101 and P0234 and the CEL about 50% of the time when I tow, almost always during or just after merging onto the interstate. The truck is in the sig, stock air filter and intake, and it happend yesterday a few times while running the stock tune. Why would it do this stock? I would guess the P0101 is maybe a bad sensor, but why the overboost P0234? Thanks for any help.

I get that code but thats when I tow with my Hypertech tuner on level 3.

Even though you were on stock setting maybe it has something to do with your EFI Live?

EFI can make the overboost code Never appear, which is nice.

Ya I know I can block the codes with EFI, I was just trying to figure out why it threw those codes running a stock tune.

If MAF readings are calculated into boost readings, they could be related.

Either way, it's throwing a MAF code (P0101 sensor performance). Are you running an oiled air filter?

Nope, air intake is all factory, filter and all.

Didn't notice the EFIlive in your sig. The P0234 is pretty common with any kind of tune, especially at low rpm under a little load (usually pulling a hill in OD). I assume it limped the truck?

I'd go in and set P0234 to not reported, and while you are at it, do the same for P0093/P1093, and set your limp home fuel to 120 all the way across. This way, the CE light won't come on for either, and if another fault sends it into engine limp, you still have full fuel. You still have the ability to monitor fuel pressure with EFI (removing the need for P1093), but you won't get run over by a log truck when your engine all but shuts down under a limp.

What was the air temperature outside?. I get the same thing when the air temperature is 50 degrees or colder on Level 3. If I put it on Level 2 it will not set the over boost code. More power with colder air.

I was running a stock tune when the CEL repeatedly came on. I have had this code before when towing with a tune (which makes sense). The code while on stock does not make sense to me

Air temp was anywhere between 25-35 degrees.

Realized I never answered this question. No, the truck doesn't go into limp when this happens. It still runs and drives like normal.

And an update:
I got the P0234 again last night, towing on flat ground, while accelerating. This was not a hard acceleration at all. Earlier in the trip there were much harder accelerations and no code. This was on the stock tune, engine did not limp, drove it about 60 miles home with the CEL on and no change in performance.

Any idea why this continues to happen while towing, on a stock tune? I know I can block the code, but I'd rather find the problem instead of just blocking the symptoms. Thanks.
