Just bought a new Duramax 2500HD (Thanks GM employee discount!) The dealer is currently adding a Banks exhaust, step bumpers, remote start, etc. My question is what is the overall height of this truck as it sits stock. I know the Onstar antenna is on top and I believe that would be the clear height. I want to add a 3" or 4" body lift but it also needs to fit in my garage. Any help would be appreciated!!

Yeah, but I want a little more heighth and the truck to be level. I hate that slanted look. Plus I want to add some bigger tires but I don't want to do a suspension lift.

you can adjust the torsion bars up front for some bigger tires.. do a search on that and you'll find out how.

Some parking decks have as little as 6'6" height. If you lift it and add larger tires be careful you don't end up shaving the roof.

Thanks. My garage door is exactly 7'0" tall. I have decided to go with the 3" body lift and some BFG's. Probably the 285's. Hopefully it will all fit. It's either that or I'm cutting the door. ;)

Check my sig, my truck resides in the garage and I have a 7' door. Try a different route other than a body lift. The frame is ugly enough without an added body lift.

True what devil said.
Go with the suspension lift. 285's will fit on a stock ride height truck. Crank the bars and go with 315s you will be suprised at how tall it gets off just that. Mine sits a good inch to 2 inches higher than my buddy's F250 6.0 with 305s on it.

I have ordered a 2" leveling kit with shocks from off road unlimited. I hope to have it this week. This is supposed to stop from having to adjust the torsion bars. It should keep the truck stock with the suspension set up. It should allow you to get a 285 to 305 tire on the truck with out any problem. I will let you know how it works.

Wether one changes the keys or not, the torsion bars are still taking more pressure to force the front end up.
So if you have original keys and crank them 2" or green keys and crank them less, overall the torsion bars are still twisted more from stock to acheive the desired height.
So why are these off road such sites saying their kit is the proper way without overloading the torsion bars?
That is a load of crap. IMHO.

That is a load of crap. IMHO. Iagree, you still need the spring tension torque to get the front up differant keys or not, the other keys are just a rip off when you can get the same with factory keys.
