HI , I just bought an 03 silverado crew cab dually 2 -wd it has 237.000 miles, but looks like it has 40.000(its that clean), I was told it hauled race cars from wisc - to florida, anyway it is smoking at idle, & going down the road, but if i push the tow /haul button.,it will clear up, it has 60# oil press, driving, @ idle it has just above the red lines, THERE IS NO Warranty ,so im going to replace injectors myself, but have never worked on a d-max , ANY INFO WOULD BE APRECIATED, thanks roger

Have you checked the balance rates of the injectors? If you are doing it yourself you may want to know which ones are bad so you don't pay for unneeded injectors. They aren't cheap.

gm calls for -4.0mm3 to +4.0mm3 izuzu says -2.5mm3 to +2.5mm3. it will take you a good day to a day and a half if you are mechanically in clined and have the tools. take 10 12 13 14 sockets 5mm allen socket and 8mm allen socket special tool to remove injectors splitting upper valve cover is difficult 7mm socket to remove injector harnesses and if injector sleeves come out of heads will need special tool to install new sleeves also 8mm socket 8mm wrench 17 and 19mm end wrench low foot pound torque wrench 19mm crows foot. good luck
