So the story goes I just replaced the ressistor assembly and plug in my truck, because the plug was melted and the fan quit working, but now the Level five on the heater control wont work. I can hear the relay clicking beside the resistor but the fan wont turn on! So I swapped out the fuses (30amp heater, hvac inside truck, and hvac under hood) and it still wont work. Is there a fuse that im missing? something else wrong? Im glad that I got my heater working, thanks to this site! But I would like it to work on every setting.

My truck is a 2005 GMC 3500 S/W with manual dual zone climate and no console.

The new resistor is from the parts store and looks just like the old one. The new plug is a pigtale that I cut out of a similar truck at the wrecker and soldered in place of the old one.

Any help would be greatly appreceated.

Sounds like a connection is missing. I don't recall off the top of my head the exact wiring at the resistor, but I'll look it up tomorrow and post if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
