I might know this one but wanted to check in and see what every one thinks on the good old diesel forums.
My truck is kicking out a good bit of white smoke on start up when its cold out. It gives off a small cloud of the stuff and idle's kind of rough for about the first 20 seconds. After that she smothes out and purrs like a kitten. The truck only does it when its cold on start up. Once the truck is running she runs very clean with no smoke even under load and no loss of coolant or oil.
I do notice the glow plug controllor making some clicking sounds and it makes the guages jump when it does. So i am thinking controllor and plugs might need to be replaced????
