How much work would it be to modify a crew cab longbed dually 3500 catback exhaust to fit a crew cab short bed 2500? Would it even be worth it?

Thanks.

Yeah, most have an extension pipe to use with a long bed. Just leave it out.

It is a Corsa exhaust and I have not seen it yet from the guy that is wanting to get rid of it. Does Corsa use the extension like you are saying? Why does Corsa make an exhaust especially for the dually?

Thanks.

prolly justthe part the exits back behind the tire sticks out further to clear the wide fenders. could just trim it down

I imagine once you see it, you'll instantly have a full understanding of how to modify it to fit your SRW CCSB. As stated above^^^, probably a 2' extension, found just behind the muffler, and if the tips are further out, it's just a matter of shortening things to get the desired fit out of it. Good luck, let us know.

The Corsa on my truck was for 01 to 05 CCLB. Less than $100.00 at the muffler shop and you would never know any different.

The long box systems have an extension pipe about 18" long that can be left out.

Check out the Corsa site it lists all the different part numbers for each system.

Corsa is a nice system, no drone at all and the muffler is 4" straight through with no restriction at all.

So what I am gathering here is if I leave the extension pipe left out it should bolt right up; am I correct? Also with the exhaust being for a dually, it sounds like I will need to cut a little off of the end before I put the tip on; am I correct on this also?

These 2 things are then only things that need to be done from what you guys are telling me.

The guy wants 300 bones for the brand new exhaust, so maybe I had better pick it up if that is all that is going to be required for install.

Thanks.

Just leave a couple of parts out will be the likely answer. I build mine wheelbase specific, but most add one extension for crew vs extended and another for long versus short bed.

$300 for a Corsa system is a great deal, you will not regret it. My only complaint is it's a little too quiet. I got mine for $500 plus $100 at the muffler shop to get it installed. The local truck accessory place quoted $1,450.00 plus install for a cat back system.

I was finally able to get Corsa to answer my call today and the guy surely did not seem very knowledgable about the difference in the exhausts. He thought I would have to purchase a new tail pipe (from the muffler back). Maybe Corsa does not have the extension like some of the others do and instead uses just one piece. The guy was not very open in discussing this with me. So, I am not really sure what to do now.

Have you seen the exhaust in person yet?

I have not seen it yet. I was hoping somebody on here would know a little bit about the Corsa exhaust.

http://www.corsaperf.com/media/pdf/INS5059.pdf

This should be a link to the installation instructions for the 05 model year. It shows the different configurations and part numbers for the different cab / boxes.

I would jump on the $300 deal and have an exhaust shop make it fit. All the pieces should be there it might just require a few cuts and welds.

Thanks for the link Tytan. That is some good info with the part #'s. I appears the muffler and the tailpipe are the same, but the mid pipe has a different part #. Looking at the pictures, the only difference I can see is the last hanger by the muffler on the midpipe. I can't imagine the midpipes would be different. The only things I can tell different are the extension pipe, extended tip, and the last hanger by the muffler on the mid pipe.

Is there going to be any thing changed on the midpipe as far as the bends go on these trucks?

Thanks again.
