As I was coming home lastnight, I was cruising about 75 and went to pass an 18 wheeler, gave it about 3/4 throttle and got almost to his drive tires when it felt like my truck stuttered and would not shift into overdrive. Finally got around him and the truck still would not shift out, just running about 3 grand. As I started slowing down the service engine light came on so I pulled over and plugged in the programmer to see what codes it was showing and it threw some tranny codes. Cleared them out and the temp guage won't work now. What could be the problem?

Post the codes it threw. Might help to make sense. I like to say a loose connection if temp sensor is good.

P0793 is the main one i remember...I didn't think to write any of them down. I know it has slipped a few times and am wondering if it has limped or not.

No idea on that one. I am suspecting a loose or corroded connections at the transmission or the TCM. Also possible wire harness rub through somewhere. If the temp sensor reads like the correct resistance for the temp then I lean to a broken wire or connection.
