: 167K TCM Flash Size?

I was tuning a truck today (07.5 LBZ) and the Owner has been having tranny problem after tranny problem with the truck (most of them dealing with overheating). Anyways I tried to read the stocktune which went fine but the size only said 167K, I know from experience it should be 1024K. I found it a little weird but it downloaded the tune and it was all there, so I made some changes and flashed it back in without any issues.

He was having problems with weird shifts and I figured it may of been due to his 36" tall tires, but after changing the shift speeds and such it still was doing it. I also tried to log the PCM and it would connect but it would not find any tranny pids. It was impossible to read.

The next thing I did was try and change the OS's, however I got an error saying the TCM size was unknown, and it would stop.

It sounds like GM fried the computer when the Owner brought the truck into the shop, and he says since then it has been shifting funny and has never been the same since. I told him to try and get GM to update the OS on the computer so they would catch the problem, because just changing the values (partial flash) still works.

Im just curious as to if anyone has had a similar problem like this?

Thanks

Mitch

We currently have do not have the capability to "Full Flash" the TCM in a 6 speed TCM. Soon to come...

I see... Is it correct that the size of the PCM should be 1024K? I found it weird that it was much smaller. I always thought that we jus couldn't full flash the NBS trucks, not the old body styles...
