My 05 keeps blowing the 10 amp. ing. fuse in the dash. I think I have a dead short as it will blow 25 amps like they are nothing. The first time it happened the truck would slam into gear and was locked in 3rd with the TC unlocked. Now it won't go in reverse and it is locked in 4 th gear. WTF. It seems to blow when I hit a bump in the road but sometimes it will blow one after the other just sitting there. All of the co- pilot stuff is off as well as the edge. Any good ideas???

Does the truck run fine without the copilot on? Or is still the same?

Still blows fuse w/o co-pilot.

You have to find the short Gray Max.

I knew the fuse would blow again after your last post, and don't just add larger fuses because the wiring on that 10 amp circuit could be a small enough guage that with the larger 25 amp fuse you would burn up the wiring instead of blowing the fuse and possiblly start a fire.

You have to go thru the wires that the 10 amp circuit is running.

If you don't have any extra aftermarket wires on that circuit, like for the co-pilot or whatever then I would suggest you take it to the dealer and let them figure it out, thats what the warrenty is for.

If you do have the co-pilot or something else hooked to that circuit then I would suggest disconnecting the wires alltogether and see if that makes a diffrence, just turning the co-pilot off won't help, the short could be on the wire feeding the co-pilot or what ever aftrmarket system may be on that circuit.

Electric shorts are never easy to find and require some patience. Just try to eliminate as many wires as possible

Truck is at the dealer now. The only aftermarket part on the truck is the ATS harness that goes in the bottom of the tranny. I'm just hoping they don't have to crack the tranny, but I have not heard anything yet.

Dealer saw the purple TC and bailed out. When I got home I put another fuse in and it has yet to blow , but now I have a TCM malfunction code that I can not clear with the Pred. I had it before when I unplugged the tranny and turned the key on, but I was able to clear it before. Maybe the wire finally melted through causing the code??? If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck. any good ideas???
