I was just thinking of the Alpha 1 Hummer and it's Dmax electronics. How can that thing dive in 4 feet or so of water and our trucks cannot? I know the breather is higher..but that sticker on the passenger side valve cover.....what gives? Heck, I'd really like to 'water-proof' my truck for stuff like that....not that I'd do it...but just in case. ;) :ro)

There is a lot more engineering built into that Hummer than just raising the breather inlet. It doesn't cost 3X as much as an H2 for nothing.

I will never buy a H2. H1A, H1, or a military surplus HMMWV over a H2 any day of the week. The 4 wheel independent suspension, locking differentials, you name it. Much more offroad capable.

I was amazed to see the curb weight of the H1 to be only 7,600 lbs in a four wheel drive truck magazine. The curb weight of my wifes diesel Excursion is 8,000 lbs. Can this be true that a diesel Excursion can weight more than a H1???

Remember the body is aluminum and that weight may be with a soft top. The hood is fiberglass.
