GMC Sierra has 39,000, Edge/attitude 4.61, K&N FIPK, 2004 LB7, did I miss anything? Probe on right exhaust manifold per "hoot". It's been chipped for last 30,000 miles.

A couple of months ago I first noticed my Attitude EGT's at 2100 + on startup, figured the glowplugs produced that heat, then I would rev the engine it would drop quickly and every thing was normal, for about a month.
(Yes, the "glow" light goes out)

I started watching the EGT's climb to 1400/1500 when idleing at a stoplight or just waiting for my mom. Again I would rev the engine and it would go away---for a while. It started happening quicker and more often.

I was towing my fifth wheel (13400) no problems, until the above started, now when I go into tow mode, and use the engine to deaccelerate down hills EGT's climb to 2100+ until I get the boost above 3 lbs, then it goes down to normal (600-900) temps. Now I'm getting really concerned seeing the EGT's that high. (0 to 3 lbs the EGT goes up?)

Any one got any ideas? I'm going to check the probe depth in the morning, as in one case it certainly caused the EGT to lower.

My thoughts: probe is going bad...something is starting to plug up the muffler, creating back pressure...Edge/Attitude is going bad/has a glitch?

:help:

No codes are being thrown!!

Something is wrong with the probe or the Edge, you wont have a higher EGT off boost than on boost. A plugged exhaust would show up under boost more also.

Called up the Edge Support line and told them about the problem, they agreed it was the probe or the module, told me to unhook the thermocouple probe and test it (ohm it) Tech said it should read 1.5 to 3 ohms, it was a complete open, tech said a new one would be put in the mail today. Also said since the probe was unhooked the EGT on the Attitude should read a steady reading llike 77 (mine was 102) and that would be a module check.

Props to Edge for standing behind their products and sending another temp probe right away!!!!!:blahblah:
