So let me explain this as best as I can. When my truck is idling even at stop lights etc. it make this terrible metal on metal screeching type cricket sound. I replaced all of my pulleys, idler, belt thinking that it was a pulley. That didn't work. Then my buddy gets under the truck and grabs the exhaust around the cat area and it stops. It looked like the bolt on the hanger by the cat might be loose so we tightened it. Well, that worked for almost a day. This is bad. I'm telling you if I'm in a parking lot idling you can hear it inside of the store. Embarassing. I am planning on getting new exhaust in the future but if it uses the same hanger then I doubt it will fix it. I'm at my wits end here because I'm not sure exactly what is making the noise or how to fix it. Thanks for reading.

sounds like a good excuse to get a new exhaust!:D

You might have already checked this but...any part of the exhaust rubbing against anything? Maybe the clamp from the turbo to the downpipe is loose? Get under there while its idling and try to locate it!

Try soaking the hanger area with WD-40. It my be a dry mount.

My bet would be the mount that is on the right side of the trans, there is a heat sheild on there. If its becomes even a little lose, then yeah it sounds like your truck is screeching and rattling apart. Mine did it to. Get under there and tighten the crap out of it.

Thanks for the input, apparently they sell the mounts for $10 a piece, should I replace them all or try soaking with lube?

You can use WD. If it fixes the noise, go to the store and find either a silicone or something similar. You could possibly use dielectric grease on them. That stuff sticks to everything. I have the CRC brand that i use on connectors and it is almost impossible to get off your hands.
