I have been looking at all these nice new stereo head units that people are installing in the newer trucks. They have DVD, navigation, handsfree for cell, back-up cam, etc, and I really like them. I have an 02 and noticed that the stock opening in my dash is slightly smaller than on the newer trucks. Does anyone know if someone makes one of these units that will fit an 02?

You might be looking at one of the flip out units. Your truck isn't a true "Double Din" style.

Check out the unit JohnMay has here in the marketplace. Its an Alpine and may be what you are looking for in a head unit. I got a Pioneer AVIC F90BT its pretty nice.

Don't waste your money on a 03 bezel I bought one and it is a bit bigger, the bezel comes down over the ashtray and power ports. It is not a direct replacement. There is a DIY here that shows you how to switch to a double din.

you need the 2 dash pieces below also with the bezel also

Thank you everyone for the responses. I was really hoping to avoid the units with a motorized screen. It just seems to me that that could fail. I really like the look and function of the double din style. I read the DIY on converting to a double din and that seems easy enough for me to tackle. Now I just need to convince someone to buy me a Kenwood or Alpine unt so I can try it. Thanks again.
