I agree save the money and spend it elsewhere. You can modify your air box and open it up and keep stock filter. There are some vendors on this site that offer modified airboxes or you can do it yourself. There was a study done on air filters and the stock airfilter outperformed all the aftermarket one. It might be in a sticky in this section or air filter section.

Does anyone know on the LLY, the airbox has a decent size hole in it from the factory. Does cutting the additional areas out make enough difference to cut them out?

Kennedy diesel has a tech tip section that shows you how to mod the stock airbox.

pulling the thick foil off the inside of the inner fender also helps increase cool air flow. the foil just covers up the hole where a snorkel goes thru for the gas motors. im probably gonna pull my air box apart this week and see how that does

The only reason I got an aftermarket is due to the fact that I was in extremely dusty conditions and didn't like paying for new filters every three weeks. I also noticed some dust in the intake past the factory filter and ever since the change to AFE I have a noticeably cleaner intake

Pretty much any of the cold air intakes that include the intake tube. aFe stage 2 for example.
