Well i was on about a 45 mi. trip home from my birthday dinner, rolling along at about 70 mph, get back into town look up ahead and light is read so I slow and approach the inner lane which is clear... As i get maybe 25 ft. out it goes green so i lay into it about 50% throttle and get back up to say 55 mph...

Then their is some traffic ahead so I roll into it to pass the car next to me so i can get over and it FALLS ON ITS FACE with anything more than say 35-45% throttle... SEEMED to die at 2000 RPM but NO MIL... About 3 lights later traffic cleared and I tried to take off again, Stuttered and Seemed to make the Motor Rev. like when the Edge is in the truc with no Attitude and it revs to tell what level it is in...

ANy ideas, I am going home to do the family thing for my B-day and will eb throwing it ont he computer and look for some soft codes or information that looks out of place..

THANKS
WILL

I would thing you need either an Edge update or a fuel filter how has it been in there.

Sounds like engine limp mode to me. I bet you jumped in and out of the throttle and don't remember it. For some reason 70mph seems to be the magic speed/rpm for the LLY to do this. I have hit it cruising at 70, then quick jumping on the throttle but then quickly letting completely off. All of a sudden I am backing down to 65 (2000) no matter what.

The computer sees pressures/rpms that don't jive in its mind, so it sets a 2000 rpm limiter which turns out to be about 65mph.

There won't be a code or anything, and you can reset it by killing the truck for about 15 seconds. All will be normal again. This can be done at the next red light or a quick stop on the side of the road.

Exactly.....you got the the old 1093 that everybody is talking about.

correct me if I'm wrong , but I thought the 1093 error was fuel pressure related and limp mode was the tranny limping, not the engine. Tranny limp seems to happen when you install a tuner and the tranny is adjusting to the new power..that is what I have gathered from all the threads about it.

regardless..do a search for limp mode, tons of threads on it.
good luck!

A 1093 puts the engine in limp. It won't go over 2000 RPM. If you apply too much throttle, it downshifts causing the engine to exceed 2000 RPM and it just bucks until you let off and it upshifts. Then you can feather the throttle and accelerate up to 65 MPH (2000 RPM) and hold it there.

It's not a tranny limp.

The 1093 makes the engine go into limp mode. There is a thread that has a lot of info on the 1093 code. There still isn't a cure yet. The LLY motor seems to be much more sensitive to this problem. Yes the tranny has a limp mode but it's a lot different. The term limp is just used when the engine is cutting power for one reason or another from my understanding.

There is a tranny limp and a engine limp. The 1093 is fuel pressure related and occurs I beleive when command pressure is out of whack with actual pressure. Very common issue with the lly's under the exact circumstances as described. Oddly enough it rarely occurs under a wot run from a dead stop. Very confusing......Mcrat has studied this one in depth and has not come up with an exact scenario. I have gone 2,000 miles with out issue then all of a sudden the truck gets sensitive to it. Very odd. At the track I have only had the truck do it once in 30 passes. This is different from the truck laying down.....when the truck lays down the 1093 doesn't get set....so go figure. A lift pump solves the lay down issue but it doesn't seem to alleviate the 1093 problem...things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Actually dpower I had my truck lay down or go flat on power and then it set a 1093 after I let off the throttle and got back on it again.

See................haven't had that yet but I guess thats why its so hard to figure out. Hopefully we will solve it soon!
