Went to walmart yesterdayd to buy some rotella t. And i saw mobil 1 5w-40 and i'm reading the label and it says for gas a diesels. And then on the back label it says specually formulated for cummins, powerstroke and duramax. So i was like damn just what i've been lookin for. And it comes in the big 5 qt jubs for 20 bucks and i'm like not bad. So i bought it. figured i'd give it a try. Anyone using this?

Mobil 1 Truck & SUV, I presume. Good stuff. And two of those 5 quart jugs sure make for a quick & easy oil change in the Duramax. The last time I bought it, you could only get it in quart bottles. It's basicly the same oil as Delvac 1, although Delvac 1 might have recently been reformulated to meet the CI-4+ rating.

Good stuff. I priced it at $26 and changeat Super Wally here in San Antonio. I've got 6 gallons of Schaeffers 7000 to use before I buy any more oil.

$20 for 5 qts here. Great oil and good price for REAL syn.

It meets all the specs for gm diesels.

On my second oil change with Mobil1 T&S and Mobil1 syn oil filter. Have used only Mobil1 Syn oils in all my cars since about 1978. Started using them when I was first stationed at Ft. Wainwright, Fairbanks, AK for cold weather starting issues. Came in a silver "metal" qt can and stated: "good for 25,000 miles or 1 year; at 12,500 miles/6 months change filter and top off oil level". That first vehicle was a 78 GMC Suburban with a small block that I had put headman hedders/manifold/carb on and ran the heck out of it. Sold it with over 80,000 miles on it while stationed in Oklahoma. For a year & a half before I sold it I just changed filters 3 times and added needed oil and probably put 15,000+ miles on it. (Won't do that with my Dmax!).

Mobil1...now if they just made a beer I wouldn't have to go to the john so often, right?

Hi. New to the board and brand new Duramax owner. Just purchased truck and looking to change oil in it soon. I believe Rotella is currently in it. Do I need to flush system or do anything special before changing over to Mobil 1?

Nope, buy 10 qts and a filter and you're good to go. Oh and welcome to the site. Does NoHoosier mean you're not a Hoosier or Northern Hoosier?

Hey thanks for the reply! He-he.. NoHoosier means that I am not a Hoosier but a mis-placed Iowa Hawkeye whose job ripped him from his beautiful state of Iowa and plopped him in the middle of Indiana. :( But its not THAT bad. I am a Tony Stewart fan so I must be converting a little. ;) Thanks again for the help!!

well after a trip to florida and just driving around town in my truck i prolly got about 4500 miles on the oil and i'm surprised how clean the oil still looks. I'm prolly gonna go to 7500 . I was changing at 4500-5000. The mobil is good stuff. I like it and it's cheaper then amsoil.
