Hello all. I had previously posted this in the Banks Power Systems Forum and I have yet to receive a reply. Can anyone help me out??

Cold Air/Super Scoop Question
Looking to upgrade to Banks Cold Air Intake w/Super Scoop on my 08 Duramax LMM. Question: Living in Montana, would I have problems with the Super Scoop plugging up with snow during severe weather? Also, I need the best price possible on this system. You can PM me with info if you like. Thanks in advance for any info offered!!

Hi:
I live in Alberta, and I won't be considering any upgrades to the intake because you have the potential of snow ingestion from Dec to Mar and no benefit until over 500HP, check other articles. If you still want to buy Banks's check their website, year end sale. JMO

Okay, lets see if I'm understanding this correctly. I don't know a whole lot about diesels, I just drive one and thats why I posted a request for info. The Banks Cold Air Intake w/Super Scoop could plug with snow and/or ingest snow and I should save my money for something more beneficial. I thought a cold air intake system was a beneficial upgrade for the Duramax. So what would be more beneficial to spend my money on?? Thanks........

The Banks designed the scoope to work kind of like a snow fence for snow. There are large slots on the back that snow can just go through, but the air pushing up. Also if you do no plug the top part by the air box, even if the scoope got plugged it would still be okay. I live in Mn & have went through deep snow. I still have not had a problem with the super scoope getting filled with snow.

Strange... when I talked to the Banks salesman a couple months ago, he advised me against using the scoop because of the snow.
