heres my story..
planning on trading my 02 2500 gasser for 05 duramax because of the totallly awesome employer discount, haha..
im wanting to mod the D/A of course but have one question about towing.. im pulling a 10,000lb. load around 1-2 times a week, the 2500 handles it great and thats not the question. the question is what all can i do to the duramax before having to do transmisson mods to it.. im wanting to go w\ the edge and predator stacked so i can kick my cousins powerstroke butt.. i would pull the load on stock or lowest edge setting, and race it on highest predator/edge levels...would i need to do tranny mods? or would i be better w\out so much power additions?

thanks in advance

If you add 90hp or more you will be looking at limping the alison. That means you should stay at level 3 or lower on the Edge OR 65hp or less tune on the predator. I ran my truck with the stock allison with the edge on level 5 for a while but it didn't take long to limp it. I only did it because I was planning on getting it upgraded at the time. The blue line in my sig says it all.

Leave it alone. You'll really kick your cousins butt if you put the bucks in a Mercedes C320 AMG. If you want a go fast, get one that is engineered for it.

drd- Welcome to the site! There is a ton of info here so make sure you use the search option to fully research everything before you buy. I would suggest going with either the Predator or J/A alone. Dont bother stacking boxes with a stock trans as it will not last long at those power levels. I would also look into a 4" exhaust to keep the temps down while towing. Hope this helps.
