I have a 2002 Duramax P/U and my wife's car is a 2002 Tahoe. Both onstar units are analog and therefore not upgradeable and useless.

My P/U onstar controls are in the rearview mirror and the Tahoe controls are in the dash. My P/U dash has a storage slot where the Onstar control is located in the Tahoe.

I want to remove the Tahoe Onstar control from the dash and install the storage slot. Can I just remove the onstar control from the dash (by unplugging it) or will that effect the radio or anything else? Does anyone have the part number of the dash storage slot that will go into the Tahoe like the one I have in my P/U?

I have searched over 700 Onstar posts today and have yet to find this question.

I went to the dealer today and found the part I was looking for. The GM part number is 15207926 and the cost is $18.21. The compartment comes complete with the rubber mat and the clips.

I will try to attach two files, one is a photo of the storage compartment and the other is the IPB of the GM dash showing the compartment.

This is a great place to store your cell phone while driving.

No replies to my original post but hopefully others will benefit from the info. I have used this site and saved myself time and money based upon posts for others so it is my turn.
