I have a 2009 Gmc slt package with stock radio. All my xm station and cd player has sound coming out but radio station does not have sound coming out. When I seach for a radio station it stop on the station like they have signal and even tell you what song is playing but no sound is coming out. So I thought it might the radio station messing up but I tried my wife 2009 tahoe and all her radio station work. So there has to be something wrong with my radio.

Sounds like a plug not fully seated or pin not fully seated in the plug. Just a guess since you get the station data. But i guess worst is the radio itself. Just have to take it in and have it fixed if under 36,000 warranty or extended warranty.

Yeah I was going to take it in tomorrow but I was just wondering if it was something simple.

How about some more info? Did it just start doing this? Or did you just buy it like this? Did you add anything to the system to cause it to do this? Or ??

No it just started today I haven't started the truck in about week and it was working then. I bought the truck new and I have not added anything to the sound system it all stock. I even plug in earphone tried to see if the radio work on the back seat radio and no radio station came in on it also just the xm channel.

Well it could be maybe low batteries. The modules in these trucks can not wake up if there is low voltage present. Just a thought.

Well I just got back from the shop and they told me the radio went bad so they have one on order for me.

My dad's 03 1/2 ton 5.3 4x4 has done something similar a couple times. Everything seemed to work just no sound. Don't remeber if he has a cd player or not. After a while it works again, to my knowledge hasen't done it for several months.
My 03 3/4 ton Dmax, Ally has done it once. Driving it, came back on a couple hours later hasen't done it since.
