I noticed a lot of oil leaking from where the line that comes off the CDR runs into the intake as well as a good bit of oil around the CDR its self. I pulled it off and attempted to clean the valve with some dawn dish soap and hot water to try and clean it out a bit as i read on here that solvents and most cleaners will only damage the rubber inside.
I can lightly blow on both sides and fill air coming out the other and i am not sure if this is normal or if its a sign that the CDR is toast.

Well there is no longer oil running down the front of the turbo any more and i have not noticed any around where the CDR plugs into the valve cover but i have only driven the truck about 50 or so miles since i cleaned every thing up. When the truck is running at around 1200 RPM's there is a good bit of air coming out of the valve and into the intake system.
Please fill out your signature so we know what kind of truck you have, mileage, etc. Remove the oil fill cap with the engine at idle. If you see a lot of puffing and smoke fumes coming out, you could have excessive blow-by.

1993 3500 6.5 TD 360,000 miles 4x4 ext cab. I had tons of oil in the intake track around the turbo to the point that it was leaking down the front of the turbo. There was also a good bit of oil around where the CDR plugs into the valve covers.

It is doing better now but i am keeping a close watch on it. I drove about 300 miles since i cleaned it and have not noticed any oil leaking from around the valve or out of the from the intake.
I plan on pulling the intake back off on monday to check for oil in the intake and if i can get around to it i might try the blow by test. Thanks for the link.

This is why I love this site. I was going to take the whole intake off to change the rubber lines going to my fuel manager. Pulled plenum off and oil everywere. Was in the process of looking on here to see if it was worth rebuilding or just by a new truck. LOL Got a real good feeling this may just be my problem. THANKS GUYS AGAIN
