the only way you will make it work is by installing a computer in the truck with wireless internet, and hooking up that computer to a video input on the nav unit.

I'm currently looking at the MiniPC's to hook to my Nav Unit (Kenwood DNX 9140). Along with having a PC, I can hook my EFILive to it and have gauges on my Screen..

no. not now, in 2011. ;) You guys need to remember the development schedule for these sorts of things before you jump the gun and say "why is my POS outdated and not able to do what a car will do in a year??"

The GMT-900's came out in early/mid 2006, with the -900 Tahoes. Figure electronics development takes 2-3 years. So if you think about it, your LMM GMT-900 nav unit *was* state of the art and cutting edge........when it was designed sometime in 2003...so its not like GM is being cheap or trying to save money by not integrating gee-whiz features like google maps. :)

Also....the audi is gonna be way over 100,000 dollars when it comes out...and yeah, google maps is gonna be VERY cool...but I have a hard enough time paying attention to a standard GPS (and the POI's) while driving...just imagine how much of a distration a full photo-realistic 3-D view map would be. :D

my buddys 2009 Peterbilt has a nav screen that is very similar to google earth. I even saw my truck parked in my driveway on it. Its not as clear as google earth though
