Have A Question? Having Problem With My Rear Slip Yoke. The Dealer Changed The Yoke Back In April With Part Number Spo 088934848 And All Was Good. Now It's June And It's Starting Again.
When I Had My 2002 Gmc 2500 Hd W/ 6.0 Motor Had The Same Problem. They Solved It By Replacing It With The Nickel Plated Slip Yoke. The Dealer Is Telling Me Yesterday(truck Is There Now) That The Nickle Plated Yoke Is Not For The 3500 Dually.
I Asked Them To Lube The Shaft Again And They Said It's Packed. What Can Be Done.

After I Come To A Full Stop And Then Start To Go Again I Get A Thump In The Rear Of The Truck. It Feels Like Something Or Someone Hit Me In The Rear. Had The Same Problem With My 2500hd And The Yoke Was Changed. Corrected The Problem. Not With This 3500.

Remove the shaft, clean all the grease out and re-lube the splines with a brand name synthetic grease. I used Mobil 1 on mine. It does not need to be packed. This worked for me. Later! Frank

PS:Spray brake cleaner over my garbage can worked well.

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD DMax and I saw your (and all the others) post about the lubing of the slip yoke....in my case the dealer lubed my center slip yoke and it completely fixed my problem......do you have any info or pics or instructions on how to do this? Is it easy? I don't ever really trust the dealers when they work on my truck.....thanks!

Maybe a stupid question, but can we take the slip yoke out of the t-case without loosing any fluid? I hear some t-case's that you can't. My one-piece driveshaft is doing the same thing after my lift. I'm assuming it's because of the axle wrap.
