My '04 is due for new tires at 50k. I could stretch it but I drive a lot of highway miles and I dont want a flat. The rears are nearly at the bars. I guess 50 PSI with no weight was a bit much. The fronts are good for another 10k at least, I ran 60 PSI there. Stock Bridgstones, Range C. I dont pay to rotate the stocks at $30 a pop but if I would have I certainly would have gotton 65k out of them. I got 65k on the stock Firestones Range E on my '02 under the same conditions.
I drive 35k a year all seasons including snow/ice. Every weekend I am in the woods so the truck sees some offroad use. The biggest problem here is snow.
Theese are the tires I am looking at.
Bridgstone Dueller AT $472 Range C
Michelin LTX MS $616 Range E
I looked at the BFG's as well but I doubt I could get good mileage out of them because 90% of my driving is beating down the expressway at 75.

I don't think I have heard of anyone running C rated tires on our trucks, could be wrong though. Our trucks come with E rated tires. Many hear run D's though.
I believe on a lot of bigger tires, a D rating might actually have a higher weight rating than an E rated tire in stock size.
On Edit: I'm stupid:banghead: I didn't realize that you had stock C rated tires. I didn't think they put C's on our trucks.

Hey your not nearly as suprised to find C range tires on a Dmax as I was when I went out in the garage and looked this morning. Great time to look now that I've used them for 21 months.

Also look into Toyo open country a/t's, I was going to go with those but I liked the look of the Nitto's.

BlueMaxxx, i have both of those tires on trucks now. The Michelins are mgood mileage tires but are disappointing in snow and mud. The Bridgestones are much more aggressive treads and are quiet and smoothe. I have only 8K on them but am pleased so far. Mine are LR D but that shouldn't affect the qualities that much.

I think the dealer may have swapped tires on your truck before you got it. Recommend you go with load range E to accomadate the load rating of your truck. Some 265 D's have the same ,load rating as 245 E's.If your hot on getting high mileage look at the commercual line.
