Can this be done without buying the Bright box. I was thinking of putting a relay on the high beams and having it power the lows. Has anyone done this?

YEA, costs about $.30 for the diode to do it.

There are some posts on here about it.

I'll have to look or u can do a search for hi/low beams.

BTW what are u doing it on?

If it's dodge then I don't know.

Forgot where I was ):h

Welcome to the diesel place. If you look in the upper left corner of this page at the top you will see user cp. click this box and fill in some information about your truck. It will be helpful to have the year, model, etc for others to answer any future questions. If you look at the bottom of other entries you will see what I mean.

I know on the newer dodges most I have seen have chosen to run the brite box. It has something to do with the computer controlling each headlight ......Brite box also has a kit that will run high/low and driving at the same time. I would be cautious about just jumpering high to low with a relay and not using some diodes to prevent backfeeding the computer, if this is how it actually works.
