ok so i have a 16 " lift on my truck. i dont have a double cardan driveline in the front. i have the single u joint style , when i engage 4wd i can not go over 5 mph because it vibrates the whole truck , it is terrible. im not running too extreme of a angle , (i dont think ) if go over five mph the vibration gets so bad like i desbribed the whole trucks gets this insane vibration and im am afraid the driveline is going to break. i changed u joints and it is not binding at all. could it be that the angle is to much for a single u joint cause the front diff has no angle on the u joint and the t-case side is where the angle is i mesasure like 26 degress on the u joint angle there, so would a double cardan fix the problem and where could i get a shaft modded or built for relativly cheap? thx

Over a 6" lift you need a diffrent front driveshaft so if your still running the stocker your going to need a different driveshaft

X2...you'll need a different shaft for that extent of lift.

Find yourself a reputable driveline shop, and dont spend over $400 for a brand new balanced driveshaft and the flange that slides into your transfer case. The only problem is that everyone says you cant fit any bigger than a 1310 series Double cardan in there, which i find hard to believe, but have yet had an opportunity to try and shoe horn something bigger in there.

ok i will try that , but one question that flange your talking about the part for the t case will that be just the flange or the output shaft too? will i have to pull my other yoke off my output shaft? and what style or size u joints do i have ? i dont know wat the numbers mean eg (1310) what sizes should i have ? all i know is the tranfer case size is outside retaining ring and the front axle size is inside type. thanks

Is your t-case stock? The stock u-joint is a Saginaw-44, also refered to as saginaw, S-44, and sometimes 3R serries. Both u-joints should be the same. That slip yoke deal that slides into your t-case is called a yoke shaft. They make flange with the spline on it to replace that yoke shaft, and then a flanged double cardan to mate to that flange that slides into your t-case. I think the flange used, might mate to a front shaft out of an old full size blazer or a frontshaft out of a dodge up til 03. edit: the flanged stub they make that slides into the front of these transfer cases is a 2.0" pilot diameter, which means you have a shot at making a used front D.S. out of a super duty work.

call http://highangledriveline.com/
or tom woods at http://www.4xshaft.com/index.html

i have seen both in person on friends rock crawlers and you will not get a better shaft. call and talk to both of them. expect to spend around 350-400 but you wont regret it.

Superlift makes a driveshaft you are looking for. I ordered mine from Summit Racing. I can't remember what I paid for it but it works likes a charm on a 6" lift.
