how many miles are you supposed to change the air filter? My van has some kind of "filter minder" but i don't know if it really works and don't want to rely on it.

My GM shop manual says replace it every 30,000 miles in normal conditions, more often under dusty conditions.

Just check your air filter visually every month or so, replace it when it looks dirty.
You have the big round filter right? I used to just rotate mine every week or so, the only dirty spot was right at the inlet ;)

Air will come thru the filter around the 360 degrees so you don't need to move it around on the base.

I would think so as well
