Ive got a 6.5L diesel in a 98' Chevy Tahoe and its got issues with stalling. It will run great then all of a sudden stall. It doesn't sputter or anything, it just shuts off. Sometimes it will just restart and work fine but other times it wont start and you just have to wait 5minutes to 5 hours and then it will work again. Sometimes it will start, run for about 20 seconds then stall again and just keep doing that. It has done it in the summer in 90 degree weather and in the winter in 20 degree weather and everything in between. Any ideas as to the problem?

If i wanted to re mount the pmd in a new location would it be better to buy a longer wire harness (i cant find any on the web) or just cut the wires and extend them to the length needed

I found lengthening them to be miserable. Get a pre-made extension.

know a site that sells the pre-made extensions?

There's a few places on ebay that sell the 6ft cable.

I would not bother relocating your old PMD, buy a new Dtech PMD, the damage has been done to your old one.

i was looking around and it seems the best place to put them is behind the bumper on the passenger side. i cant figure out where i should put it though. do i need to drill some holes somewhere to attach it?

does anyone have any pictures of where they installed theirs?

also am i going to need to buy a new resister along with the new pmd and extension cable?

I had the same problem as you.

I just bit the bullet and bought the PMD Isolator from Heath Diesel.

The installation was a breeze. The unit shipped with everything needed including the PMD/FSD mounted on a huge heat sink, the extension harness and detailed instructions on how to install it.

Truth be told...

Since my PMD/FSD was already mounted on the intake, I didn't have to go fishing for the harness end. So for me, installing the PMD Isolator only involved drilling 4 holes in the plastic "skid plate" and routing the harness extension.

Sure it cost a couple hundred more, it's well engineered and has a 7 year warranty.

Peace of mind was worth the extra couple C-Notes.

Just my $0.02 worth.

More later...

Z.

Heath's comes with a #7 resistor already insalled.
