Hey guys, not sure if this goes here or not, but I will be towing an enclosed 3 place snowmobile trailer total of about 1800 miles at the end of january.

I have leaky cooler lines and plan to replace them with some made from a hydraulic shop when i get the funds and a garage heater.

My question is, will I be fine driving the 1800 miles with the leaky lines, or do I need to break the bank to get this done before my trip? I plan on bringing some ATF with us just to make sure.

Thanks for the input,

Kenny

Only a few drops came out of mine when it leaked and you will have to judge the speed of your leak accordingly. I would get a gallon of transynd and go on your trip. You will have to stop for fuel about every 250 miles so check the trans at each fillup. Don't over fill it!!!! Your supposed to be to the full line only if your at 160 degrees or better so usually keep it below that line. I'm guessing with such a light load and being cold that you won't even make the 160 degree mark on the trans but that is only a guess.

I would no doubt fix those lines right know. Fixing them will be cheeper than the internal damage done by low fluids. I have run leaky trucks in the past but have since changed my opinion. When a leak shows up I fix it. In this truck I put a rear main in it, messed something up and had to do it again. Sure I could have added a quart every 1000 miles, and It was lots of work. But now I know my oil is where it belongs.
