I have an idea that I need some help on.

I would like to install 4 lights under the cab or on the bottom of the door (thin strips, weatherproof). I have a crewcab and I'm looking to only have the door that is opened to throw the light, not at all 4 doors.Obvioulsy this would require a small pressure switch at each door. Would it be worth my while to just have them turn on during at all times or find a way to just have them turn on at night? I would really like to have them turn on at night.

Perhaps tie into the the instrument lumination wire as a relay?

thanks,
Justin

Do you have perimeter lighting on your truck?
Turn it on, and/ or wire into that circuit.

I'd like to wire my truck the same. I'm not aware of a signal that can be use directly. I'm thinking using the door sensor and running light signals to control a relay for each door. The '05 back doors will take more work.

Can anyone point to a connection to the perimiter lighting that could be used to fire a relay for additional outside lighting? I would like to add the puddle type lamps somewhere of which you don't get with the extendable mirrors. Most likely I would add a small light on the running boards.

You would have to go into the door and get the door switch wire, diode isolate it and hook it up to a relay to turn on the lights. Pretty simple really. The hardest part is getting the wire into the door.
