Do you swap out the exhaust everytime you go in for service at the dealer? I got a 4" system with a cat delete, but with th enew tsb's that are out for my truck i need to bring it to the dealer. I really don't want to mess with taking the exhaust in and out every time.

the dealer has never said a word about my exhaust or intake just take any chip or programmer off
you should be a-ok with the exhaust

You could easily just swap the front section as long as you got a flanged system and not a clamp together one. It wouldn't take very long.
I have yet to take my truck in to the dealer...

My exhaust is not a flanged system. So I would have to unclamp the whole thing. I just wondering if they would make note of the cat missing.

Depends on the tech. I'd make a trip into the dealer without bringing in the truck, and talk to the diesel tech. If he's(or she) not going to work with you, I'd find another dealer and have the talk. Good luck. I haven't had my back to the dealer since new (7/04, 14k miles).

I did not replace mine when the engine failed(unrelated) and it spent 2 weeks in the shop. The techs noticed but did not make an issue of it.

i took my truck to a muffler shop to take the honey comb out of the cat ,they only charged me 50 dollars, it took them 2 hours ,they cut a little square in the cat and chisled out all the honey comb and then welded the metal sqare back . it runs like a different truck and the cat is still on but without the restriction of all the junk .

I don't know if it's any different for the cat on the trucks, but I did that to the cats on my car, and with three (yess, three) empty cats for the exahust to resonate in, the car sounded like crap...

1st time in i put cat back on, removed finger stick and blocker plate. When i took it back in to have fuel rail replaced. I left cat off, stick and plate in. Not one word about anything. I did put stock program in, they might have had something to say about that
