Hey guys, I'm considering a FlashPaq for my truck. I don't run it at a drag strip or have any need to try and make 800 HP. I want something to fix the messed up shifts now that I've gone up to the bigger tires and firm up the shift points. Any increase in power would be great obviously, and I'm not looking for some miraculous gain in fuel economy. I would have bought a honda civic if I was concerned about gas mileage. I keep hearing about the EFILive, but don't know much about it. I've had a few guys recommend the Flashpaq as a fairly easy, good performance upgrade. I've also talked to Justin at Blackbear about getting a custom tune, but apparently, there's a module built into the NBS truck in the tranny that doesn't allow you to tune it via mail, and I'm having some trouble trying to round up 9 other guys that all want a tune at the same time to be able to get Justin down here. What do you guys think? Is the Flashpaq a waste of money, what exactly is EFI Live and how does it work, or should I just say screw it all and live with it? Any help is much appreciated.

EFIlive is definetely BETTER than a FlashPaq. You can adjust so much more and much more accuratly...and easier. But if you just insist on a handheld, go with a DiablSport Predator. They are leaps and bounds better than a FlashPaq, and usually bout a $100 cheaper...but i cant promise they are out for your model truck YET, but I would bout bet they are.

While EFI live is definitely the best. However the predator offers more adjustments than the average person is going to mess with, fuel trim, injector slope stuff like that. It also offers data logging. And from what ive seen at local truck pulls the preset tunes in the diablo seem to outperform the other hand held programmers in the chevys. There are also custom written tunes available for the diablo. And i bought my diablo from a local shop, after sales tax it was only a few bucks more than internet price and he had it in a day.
