Few days back, I passed a semi truck, towing a gooseneck trailer. I did not realize that could be done. I currently have a Superglide installed, and have need to occasionally tow a gooseneck trailer. I know there are 5th wheel to gooseneck adapter, but my 5th wheel is simply to heavy for that. I want a gooseneck to adapt to the 5th wheel.

Google search reveals this:

Anybody have any experience with this.

Did you check with the manufacturer of the Superglide? I think they make somethink now for your application.

No I had not...and I did, and yes they have an adapter now. Actually if I had the time, I'd build that...may yet at $290.

I saw some gooseneck hitches with a sleeve made to replace the sleeve on the trailer and the sleeve has a 5th wheel pin welded to it. Some of the horse trailer transporters use this when towing tandem trailers because of some state laws not allowing tandem towing with gooseneck hookup on both trailers.

If you can't find one already made it would be easy to have one made at a welding shop.

I use at king pin adapter like the one shown on the google search website. I have a 20000 lb. GVW gooseneck and haul 18000 lb tractors on it (we sell farm equipment) and havent had any problems. Only takes 2 minutes to switch it sure is easier to hook up to.
