Is the banks bighead worth the money vs the Monster low end torque it puts out. Or is it a flop.
Thanks for any insight.

It appears that you have an LLY. The wastegate is not applicable to the LLY. We have the variable vane turbo to control boost instead.

if you want to pick on someone, how about smacking mwgasman (member.php?u=3292) over the head with a wet fish for telling a guy whose name is 04LB-7dmax (member.php?u=9792) that he has an LLY. I'm pretty sure he has an 04 lb7...

The wastegate would be a nice investment. You will need a boost gauge to evaluate the boost after you install it so you can set it correctly. Make sure you have the proper tools and be careful when you set it as not to turn it up to high and blow the turbo up.. Follow the instructions and post any questions here that you might have before, during and following the installation. Good luck.
Also take into consideration any mods, tuners, exhaust you will install when doing this as with some tuners your boost will be higher. Good luck

04, get gages first. that way you know operating readings after modified, every truck is different along with your area.

I see higher "top end" boost and (a little) less smoke.
Set of the pants (nothing).

Well, i went w/the PPE boost increaser vavle, and i think im ganna buy the banks Bighead, cuz im only pulling 28psi w/ my predator on 120hp. Stock i can pull that, i did pull a 30psi, but have never gone above that, is that normal psi w/a tune. What are you guys hitting w/ your bighead. Thanks Cody

The bighead is adjustable so you can "hit" what ever you adjust it to. 29.7 is what I'm at currently.

Isn't that getting close to the break-point of the stock turbo. I thought I read that we shouldn't spin the stock turbo for more then 28 psi. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i thought it was 32 psi and you better ready for shotgun blast.

I believe that the stock waste-gate was set at 28.
32 is what appears to be the "safe" limit with the stock turdo.
