Im looking for directions on bypassing the OPS on a 1998 gmc 6.5 with obd-2 system.. I know the safety risk and why the OPS is there.. Can some one please help me with this i have searched the forum and only found a ops relay bypass to increase the amps from 1 to 4.. I want to eliminate the ops completely..! I know i have a backup relay on the 98 incase the ops fails do i utilize this to eliminate the OPS?

A link to a tread or the solution would be great!

If you want to bypass, you just have to put 12V direct source to the LP.
I am not sure if you can do it without a relay because the LP will be on all the time even when engine not running unless it goes to 12V ign on source. The relay mod for 95- model year should work to ensure that it is not on all the time.

Do it at your own risk!!!

One of the reason there is no step by step instruction is that people are afraid to get in trouble in this litigation society. Everybody wants to sue somebody else just to make the lawyer rich.

So Do it at your own risk!!!

and if you were to do it ... make it a switched 12v so it wont run your batteries down , if thats what you decide to do ....

Why bypass it? That's asking for trouble in an acident situtation.

I'd go with the relay setup for the OPS. That's just me however.

Just hope you never get into an accident because if you do and the truck's leaking fuel onto a fire, you and anyone else in the truck are in big trouble if the diesel goes up in flames.
