Washed the truck tonight and decided to wash under the hood too.;)
Got everything washed off and went out for a ride to blow dry the truck off.:driver:
Jumped on the hi-way and let her rip, I was going along and when I passed a old lady or man the little picture of the engine lit up, at first I thought since it looked like a picture of a gas engine with a carb air cleaner on top, that it was a indicator that I just blew by another gasser :D
But since that's happened plenty of times before and the light never came on, then it must be something else.
Thought maybe having a wet engine compartment might have something to do with it too.
Checked with code reader and it said code PO 234
Any ideas ?
Also I should add this is the first check engine light I have gotten in 2 + years that I have owned the truck :ro) , and that includes a burned up tranny :(

PO234 Detects an Overboost condition and a
biased high boost sensor by measuring the
delta between a 3D lookup expected Boost
table and measured Boost.
I personally would give it a few days and wait and see if the light clears itself after a few cycles. More than likely it was just something wet. Your best bet would be to clear out the code to make the light go off, then see if it returns.

IIRC a wet filter/MAF can induce false boost codes...

I have had the same code a number of time. However, it was only when towing, and usually came on when I hit a hill and started up. When she kicked down a gear is when it would throw the code.
Usually would go off after a few start cycles.
I have not seen any when I am not towing. But, I am a fairly conservative driver, ie: level 1/1. Towing I run level 2/1.
It would be nice to hear from the dmax techs on this to see if it is a sensor going bad, or if we have some serious concerns.

According to my tech manual code PO234 indicates and I quote "ENGINE OVERBOOST"...................SWH...

Funny I just had this explained to me today by John at DPS. I got the light at the bottom of a long grade with 16,900 gross wt on level 2 on the Edge. He said it was an "over boost" more than likely. No code reader but the light went out at the first engine shut down. He also said that he can duplicate the "overboost" on the same hill in his truck. I'm gonna have to get something cheap to read codes!
DD......What are you using to read codes? How much did it cost? Excuse the OFF TOPIC

Gruber;
local buddy, 4x4man, told me Harbor Freight carries a code reader. they were out when I arrived so I didn't see it but the price tag was ~$49

Overboost it is.
Hopefully Victory and Max are right and having a wet air filter (which I did) caused it.
I erased the code and the light went out and didn't return today, but I didn't flog it as hard either. I'll try hammering it again tomm.
On a side note it's amazing how the tranny comes back to life after you beat on the truck a little. The upshift's were good and in tow/haul the downshift's were amazing again, just snapped them off 5-4-3-2-1
I bought a Actron CP9125 code reader at Advance Auto parts for $80 it just reads codes and erases them if you want. They have higher up models that do more but this one was good enuf.
Thanx for the help
