I recall somebody buying a harness that plugs into the block down by your left foot (I believe it is called the MBEC) that supplied RAP and 12v always on power. My understanding it is that it was the harness that came with code 9L4. While i know which pin on this block supplies power and I am currently using it was thinking of buying the harness to make things a little cleaner.

I have search and search to no avail, does anbody recall the post or part number.

Thanks

As CAPFLYA was saying, that is a good spot for a tap. FYI, one of those open ports there, I believe top one GM calls AUX PWR, also they put what is called emergency vehicle provisions on diesel trucks. This allows for 'ignition on' hots etc. I am not sure of the part number but for about 35 bucks you can buy a factory plug, that fits right in there with aprox 10-12, 12" pig tails. Plug it in, find what works for you and you don't have to touch factory wiring. Works well and some of the pins have factory relays already in the system.
I may be mistaken but I believe this is the GM part # 15306107, ACD# PT1268. Check it out, This is used for CB radios, 2-way radio's aux lighting etc. Hope this helps.

It looks like the right idea, but reading the thread I think that is for the old body style. I am looking for one for an LMM

You might want to call the dealership, I do believe it is the same. Give them the part number and see if there is a new one for lmm. I will look into it tomorrow if I get time.

So I have done some more reading and the connector I am looking for goes in what the manual calls the Power Distribution: Pickup – Junction Block-Left I/P in location X14. It says this is a 8-way F GT 280 Series (BK), I have found a source for it, a place called Ballenger Motorsports. They have every connector you think of at great prices. They will sell you a kit with connector and pins or the parts or make you a pigtail. I will post when I recieve it and verify it is the right part. Still confused as to the connection at location X14 and how much power is there. I know there is RAP and I am using it to power a GPS with no problem but would like to know more. Will continue to research.

Well the search continues. I have found the exact connector but so far not sure of a source. The connector is a Delphi Part # 13516831 8 Way Black GT 280 Unsealed Female Connector. Problem is I can't find anybody that carries the connector.

I did find this really cool ac delco site it shows all there connectors. acdelco connectors (http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/gm/pigtails/8-cavity/female/) It shows a GM part number 19149289, but for $100 bucks I guess I will stick with the messy connection I have.

Well finally found the answer to this question thanks to heymccall. Seems I have been barking up the wrong tree, right root though, thanks to the fact the the 2008 upfitters electric manual is incomplete in this area. Here is a link to another thread where heymccall gives all the right answers. Keyed power in 08 LMM for accessories? (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3617505#post3617505)

Yeah, I accidentally bought the other plug, thinking it was for an 08 because I think I saw it in somebody's sig. It looks really close, but does not fit....figured that out after I wired up the harness to my liking :duh:

Looks like I now have a p/n to fix my wiring too.
Thanks.
