So I am really ticked off now. I took my truck in last Monday the 7th to get some warranty work done and…. Let me start from the beginning. My truck is an 07 GMC CC/SB LBZ Regency Edition. This means that it has a 6” lift with 35’s and lots of styling extras. Power train has not been touched in anyway. It has not been changed in any way since it came off the lot. I was concerned about a few things like chrome pitting, shocks leaking, speedometer miscall braded, a arm bushings shot, power steering noise, and steering column rattle. I took it to a local dealer in my area and was told that they would not touch any of the Regency parts. Mind you the truck is still under the factory warranty. They told me that I should go to the dealer on the other side of town and they would take care of me. I went there. The service rep said he would take care of it and call me when he knew what to do. He called and said that they couldn’t do anything. So there I was with a truck that was the most expensive on the lot at the time of the sale and no dealership would help me. I then took it to a GM shop my friend recommended. I went there. They really wanted to help and why not GM would cut them a check to do the work and for the parts. But again they were not able to do it under the warranty. So my final solution was to call dealer where the truck was first sold. They told me no problem bring it in. So I did. I dropped it of Monday the 7th with my list of concerns. On Tuesday I was told they were not going to replace the two shocks that were leaking or as they called it “weeping“, cause weeping is not a problem. I told them that it was not acceptable for shock to “weep” especially since they didn’t have many miles on them. Then on wed I was told they were replacing the shocks and it would be done in the morning and could come pick it up. It wasn’t done. I was then assured three times in one day it would be done my 5pm on Friday. On my way to get it I got a call saying it wasn’t done the power programer wasn’t in and they still needed to do a few things. The weekend went by and Monday afternoon it still wasn’t done and still no idea of when it would be done. It is now Tuesday over a week and I have no word. I have made plans three times to pick it up now and have had to cancel some of my plans. What the hell.

Sounds like to me they are eating the bill to fix it since they sold it that way and doing the best to make it cost them the least. Maybe even trying to fake warranty repair to get paid on things. I doubt GM will help them out if it has been denied warranty by GM.

so got my truck back after many many phone calls. They fixed the big stuff and gave me a programmer. ????? I am lost here I thought programmers were fronded upon. Why would they dealer use an aftermarket programmer and give it to me to fix programming issues? dosent the dealer have access to the ECM on there own?

Your dealing with non stock tires. GM Tech II cannot correct the speedometer since that tire size is not in the spec for the model you have would be one thought. No idea on other mods so say for example the EGR has a blocker plate again the Tech II can not make the change without authorization from GM. The Tech II is more of a scan tool but doing anything the the model did not come with requires web update authorization.

Subscribing....a programmer? What kind of programmer? Is it like a off the shelf product?

Hmmmm now they can defiantly deny you, they know for sure a programmer has been attached... what kind of programmer? like a power module?

Bill.

I would guess it's a SuperChips or HyperTech programmer to adjust for tire size. A buddy of mine had a '06 Regency Gasser and he had nothing but problems. The dealership handed him a programmer to adjust for tires. He had it in and out of the shop for suspension issues until he got rid of it. Something about the lift they put on it was making it near impossible to keep in alignment.

That is the best typo I've seen in a while.

Is it a PowerProgrammerIII? I would recommend not using Power Tuning on your truck. Just adjust for the tire/gear change. If you need any help with the tire size, use this.
