So, I only have a PPE on level 2 on my truck. Yet it seems like every one I talk to or race has much more, like a edge or banks or whatever. But no one ever has any transmission work done. I have been afraid to go any high on my tuner for fear of tranny damage. Am I missing something or do people just not want anyone knowing they have transmission upgrades?

O I say plenty race and not have anything done and seems to hold up but there be that one time and it will slip. Some seem to hold more than others. If they get out before the 4th shift that be best. 4th gear is the weakest one. Then say your at 60 best not to trump the fuel pedal to the floor or one can slip the Allison that way as well.

Ok, makes sense. So what would be your opinion on the way I drive. This is a daily driver, no competing, just the occasional street race. Do you think I would be ok to go ahead and run a little higher tune? I know that every truck is different, I'm just looking for several opinions to get an idea.....And on a side note, I just raced my cousins 04 Mustang GT and he lost pretty bad from the light. Not a big win, but since it is my cousin, it makes me happy to be able to rub it in his face, LOL. Thanks for the info guys.

Not gonna make a call on that. If you can afford to pay then play.

i ran my 02 on lvl 4 with nothing done other than a deep pan and transgo jr, my 03 on lvl 5 for a while with just a deep pan racing 1/8th mile. tanc crusher is right the 4-5 shift is the weak link on stock ally's. i limped my 03 goin up a hill in nebraska with my dually on a gooseneck set on lvl 4. you really just have to feel your truck out and see what she can take! lvl 3 should be okay on your truck just dont go into 5th gear hard with it.
