Hi, I bought a 2005 Duramax 2500HD yesturday and it was the only one i could find with the color and options I HAD To have. The truck didn't have a DVD but it wasn't on my HUST HAVE list. I wanted to know how hard it would be to take the DVD system out of a wreck truck and install it in mine. Wires, etc...

I have the 6 disk indash changer with XM and on-star.

thanks for the help!!!!

I would not use the GM unit. IIRC the screen was was small like 6.5 or 7" and it will cost you twice as much as an aftermarket 10 or 12" unit. There are tons of aftermarket overhead flipdown combination units that will work with your truck and offer a better picture/features than the factory. You might do some research and see what you come up with. Just about any unit can be intergrated with you factory sound system in multiple ways. Good luck.........
