I did some maintenance on my 2002 over the weekend.......

I had noticed that the fan on setting 1 or 2 had some reduced air flow.......I usually wait until the pollen season in CT is done in the late spring to change them.........this is what I found ..............-:t -:t -:t

The new filters are as WHITE as the paper in the background for comparison purposes as far as how dirty they are..........

After the change the fan works a lot better......

They are a 10 minute change and I really think they are a good idea......:)

Here are the PICS.........

Aww you could have got a few more miles out of those tony ):h
At the dealership, it was a lot of fun to show a customer their cabin filter when they said they didn't need a new one...Some looked like a garden was growing in them..Others had acorns, leaves, and corn stuffed in them. The look on their face was priceless  ):h
Funny, most of them decided they needed a new filter after seeing why their fan didn't work so well anymore..

Sure wish that GM had retained the cabin air filter in their later models. Probably omitted by some 23 yr old with a Harvard MBA beancounter.

Hello all, is it possible to retro-fit filters into an '04...maybe a kit of some sort....as I miss these too, had 'em in my last truck.:)

I know at some point there was a guy that cut a hole and put them in.. Somehow that thread got lost in the move to vbulliten, because I can't find it.. And I know I posted in it! I have considered doing it though, because after seeing how dirty the filter got in my last truck, I would much rather have that crap in the filter than the heater core...

After reading all these posts on cabin filters, I still can't decide if my 2003 Silverado LT 2500HD has these filters.

Can someone please enlighten me about the 2003 models?

Thanks in advance. :help: :confuzeld

It became apparent to me last weekend while towing that my filters were really dirty. Well I finally got a set today and changed them out. They were pretty bad, and a bunch of other crap came out with them. The AC works like it's supposed to now, there's no weird strain hum coming from the fan anymore. I got my truck used it appears it was changed before but at 115,000 I don't know when the last time was.

There's a thread on here somwhere that shows a pretty easy mod to add filters to '03 and newer trucks. I think its in the DIY section.

I use WIX filters, Fram, NAPA, etc all carry them..........

Get them changed and buy a set for the shelf...............I change them every year, usually in th espring after pollen season........

That filter set should be sent to the Centers for Disease Control............for testing..........maybe the next biological weapon is growing in them...........):h ):h ):h
