Over the past few weeks ive noticed my water in fuel light flickering on and off. It comes on when I hit a bump in the road. The longest it has stayed on is about 10 seconds, but it will usually just flicker for a few seconds. So i'm thinking the sensor is going out? When there is actually water in the fuel does the light stay on constantly or will it flicker like mine is doing. The truck is running fine so hopefully I just need to change a sensor. Thanks for the help in advance.

Bump. No one else has had issues with the WIF light?

I had mine come on and stay on when I had a problem. But it was in a batch of homemade biodiesel and it was a ton of water. Accidentally let rain water in. I would first try draining the water from the filter. Very easy there is a thumb screw on the bottom of the filter. It could be just a bit of water in there that is sloshing around. The sensor is around $50 if needed. I also had to replace that as I pulled the wire out one time when changing the filter.

Ive already replaced both nicktane and stock filter. Im thinking its got to be the sensor. Thanks for your input.

I've had the same problem with my WIF light. I replaced the sensor and the light still flickers although not as frequently. I sprayed some electronic contact cleaner in to the socket where the sensor plugs in and that seems to help. I think the socket gets loose as the truck ages and the WIF sensor gets unplugged and plugged when the fuel filter is changed.
