All morning I have been fighting with my truck, Here is how not to find out your ratio of glycol to water.
1) Wait till temps get down to -40
2) Start the truck and let it warm up as always
3) Drive down the road and watch the temps creep up
4) Wounder why the heater isnt working
4) Pull over and watch it steam
5) Think about why this is happening
6) Come to the conclusion that the rad is froze
7) keep feeding it coolant and let it idle for 2 hours with a winter front on it
8) Finally get enough heat generated under the hood to help thaw out the cooling system.
I Got very lucky, I had a coolant leak over the summer so I would just put straight water in when it got low. So come fall I knew I had to add some glycol, turns out one Jug was not enough, lol. I am fortunate I had my truck plugged in as it kept the coolant from solidifying.
That and one of my Ballasts for my HIDS took a crap, I hope it starts to work again when it gets warmer. I hate this weather.
